The San Antonio Spurs continue to amaze everyone from obtaining 1st place in the West and by defeating the Utah Jazz in Game 1.
Looked like a blast from the past from Tim Duncan (17 pts, 11 rebounds) and Tony Parker (28 pts, 8 ast). For the spurs to continue to dominate their playoff run they’re gonna need more from Manu Ginobili, their recently acquired Borris Diaw and Stephen Jackson, plus the other players among the team. Other than that, Greg Popovich has been doing a great job coaching these old timers.
For the Utah Jazz to have a fighting chance in this playoff run is simple, they need more than Gordon Hayward, Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson to score and rebound. Devin Harris needs to setup up and do what he used to do. Derrick Favors and Jamaal Tinsley is carrying the 2nd unit but other players need to start doing something.
After Game 1, the Spurs are looking pretty good right now.
Oklahoma Thunder defeats Dallas Mavericks with a late bucket made but Kevin Durant. This was a close game since the start of the game, wire-to-wire. This series is probly the most exciting one so far, and I can definitely see this going to 7 Games. Both teams are doing what they’re supposed to be doing.
Serge Ibaka doing it on the defensive end, Russel Westbrook doing what he does offensively, Kevin Durant doing everything on the offense and defensive end, James Harden coming off the bench doing his thing. If they want to dominate this series, its time that Perkins needs to find his offensive rhythm and someone else from the bench needs to step up.
Shawn Marion and Dirk Nowitzki doing what they do, Jason Terry coming off the bench doing what he does, Vince Carter stepping up. Jason Kidd having his all around game as usual. If they want to dominate this series Brendan Haywood needs to do what he did during the season before he got his injury and like I said about the Thunder needing someone else off the bench to show up, same thing for the Mavs, they need someone from the bench to step up.
The Orlando Magic beat the Indiana Pacers today, in which people thought was going to be a boring series. After today in a close game, I don’t think people are going to think it’s a boring series.
Orlando winning without their All-Star Dwight Howard, which is pretty good considering their interior defense isn’t as superior as it should when Dwight is there. Jameer Nelson, J-Rich and Big Baby stepped it up for the Magic, but if they wanna go far for the playoffs Hedo and Ryan Anderson needs to step it up as well as J.J.Reddick.
Indiana should be easily blow past Orlando. Roy Hibbert needs to get it done on the offensive end, exploit the fact that they don’t have Dwight and use it to his advantage. His defense was superb but the offense needs to click. And players other than Granger, Hill and West need to score. Paul George needs to step it up and make his defender work, no one can guard him on that team and its time he shows why!
Seeing the Iman Shumpert go down in the 3rd quarter wasn’t a pretty sight. The New York Knicks have just lost their best one-on-one defender, hopefully the injury isn’t too serious that he has to miss the rest of the playoffs, but the fact he got carried off isn’t a good sign at all.
New York losing to the incredible Miami Heat defense and the dynamic duo of Lebron James and Dwayne Wade looked like an utter no-contest win. The Knicks need to do something to turn this around or it looks like Miami is going to sweep them in this Playoff series.
Knicks needed Jeremy Lin out there, seriously their offense was really sloppy, yeah Baron Davis had a nice 1st quarter but, that’s pretty much it where was he in the 2nd, 3rd,or 4th?? Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony need to step up as the All-Stars of the team and they need to give it to Tyson Chanlder more right away on the pick-and-roll.
For now after Game 1, it looks like its gonna be wayyyy too easy for the Miami Heat.
Out for the rest of the playoffs after tearing his ACL in the final minutes against the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 1 in the 1st Round of the Playoffs. Big hit to the Bulls, now the bulls will have to play like they did during the regular season without him. Hopefully its enough to advance through the playoffs.
He’s also out for the USA team as well as Dwight Howard, Lamarcus Aldridge and Chauncey Billups.
Many say why he was still in the final mins of the game when they were already up. No one knows why except for Tom Thibodeau =/
